team.He became popular when he smashed his way to a blistering 148 runs off just 123 balls against Pakistan and that was his 5th ODI.next achivement was 183 against Sri Lanka which gave him more confidance.In April 2006 he was announced as No:1 batsman in the ICC ODI rankings.In August 2007, Dhoni was named the captain of the Indian cricket team for the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa and he proved himself to be a great captian.
